For YouTube Live · 64-bit Windows 10 & 11
You've got the show — let's get it on air.
LlamaCasty is a Windows app for streaming live to YouTube and recording to your PC. Open it and you're ready: five scenes set up, your game and voice balanced, and YouTube's settings filled in. Drag things where you want them, then press Go Live.
Coming soon to the Microsoft Store No watermark. No branding.
To stream, you'll need 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and a YouTube channel.
Three steps to your first show
Think of it as a little TV control room that fits on your desk.
-
Sign in with your channel
Use “Sign in with Google” to link the YouTube channel you already have. Want a look around first? You can build scenes and record before you sign in.
-
Pick a scene
Click one of the five thumbnails across the top. Drag and resize your webcam, game, and chat right on the big preview.
-
Press Go Live
One click and you're on YouTube, with the right settings already filled in. Butterflies? Run a private Test Stream first.
Shaped around YouTube Live
LlamaCasty streams to YouTube and only YouTube, so it's built around how YouTube Live works: your channel, your chat, Super Chats and memberships, Shorts-style vertical video, and the YouTube Partner Program.
-
Made for YouTube
Sign in with your channel. Chat, Super Chats, memberships, gifts, and the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) tracker are part of the app, not add-ons.
-
Ready the moment you open it
Five scenes with background art, the right stream settings filled in, and your game audio picked up automatically.
-
Sound that's ready
Voice polish and auto-ducking (your game dips when you talk) are built in, with one mic control to manage.
-
No panic on air
Practice privately with Test Stream. Once you're on air, your layout locks in place.
-
No strings
Free forever, with every feature unlocked — no watermark, no branding, no LlamaCasty account. A paid edition with higher output quality arrives at launch; details then.
Sound you'll be proud of
LlamaCasty uses your Windows sound devices. Desktop and game audio come in automatically. Your mic is the only thing you manage, with volume, mute, and a live level meter.
- Auto-ducking. The game gets quieter while you talk, so your voice rides on top.
- Voice polish. Bass, treble, a noise gate, and a compressor, built in.
- Limiter. Loud moments in the final mix won't clip.
- TRAX. Built-in background music.
- Lip-sync slider. An audio delay for setups where the sound runs ahead of the video.
Your whole show, built and waiting
Starting, Live, BRB, Chat, and Ending are there when you open the app, and four of them come with background art. Click a thumbnail to switch scenes with a Cut, Fade, or Move transition.

F1–F5 switch scenes by default.
Calm while you're live
LlamaCasty keeps things steady while you're on air, so your attention can stay on your viewers.
- Test Stream runs a private practice broadcast, with simulated chat and events, before you go public.
- The layout locks while you're live or recording, so a stray click can't move your webcam mid-show.
- Health warnings appear only when YouTube reports a real problem.
- You can edit your title, description, and tags while you're live.
- Bitrate, frames per second, dropped frames, and stream time sit right under the preview.
- Built to run well on everyday PCs. LlamaCasty uses your graphics card to encode video when it can, leaving the rest of your PC free for your game.
Stats sit under the preview. Diagram, not a screenshot.
Plenty more in the box
All of this is in the box.
-
Vertical streams
Go vertical at 1080p60 (9:16) for Shorts-style streams. Widescreen comes in 1080p60, 1080p30, 720p60, and 720p30.
-
Record to your PC
Save an .mp4, with or without a YouTube sign-in. When you stop, name the file or keep the automatic name. Or hit Cancel to discard the take.
-
Animated alerts
Video alerts for Super Chats, Super Stickers, new members, gifted memberships, received gifts, and member milestones. Swap in your own alert video, and add an optional ticker that scrolls, flashes, or stays put.
-
Chat on stream
Put your YouTube chat right on screen. It's shown on stream, never stored.
-
Social bar
Show your handles: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Discord, Bluesky, Mastodon, and more. LlamaCasty checks that each handle exists when you add it. Click the bar to move it between top and bottom.
-
Your webcam and more
Frame your webcam in a circle or rectangle, and LlamaCasty keeps it a sensible size. Add game or desktop capture, a single app window, images, and web overlays.
-
Hotkeys
By default, F1–F5 switch scenes, F6 starts or stops your stream or recording, F7 mutes the mic, F8 mutes desktop audio, and F9 plays or pauses TRAX. Change the keys to suit you.
-
Saves itself
Your layout saves as you go. Close the app, and your scenes are waiting next time.
-
Live zoom
While you're live or recording, pick a shape — circle, tall rectangle, or wide rectangle — then right-click anywhere on the preview. A 2× close-up pops up for your viewers and follows the action.
Completely yours.
Free forever, with every feature unlocked — no watermark, no branding, no LlamaCasty account. A paid edition with higher output quality arrives at launch; details then.
- Free forever
- Every feature unlocked
- No watermark
- No LlamaCasty account
The free version is the whole app, not a trial: every feature is unlocked and it stays free. A paid edition with higher output quality will be offered at launch through the Microsoft Store — pricing and details then. If it earns a spot in your setup and you'd like to say thanks, you can buy Gramps a coffee or pick up something from the merch store. It's completely optional and never expected, and the app will never ask.

Gramps is a developer and a lifelong gamer: that's 45 years of pressing buttons to see what happens. These days you'll find him streaming on YouTube.
He built LlamaCasty for the way he streams. You can watch him build it on his channel. Pull up a chair.
Good questions, straight answers
Is it free?
Yes. The free version is free forever, with every feature unlocked and no LlamaCasty account. A paid edition with higher output quality arrives at launch; pricing is announced then.
When can I get it?
LlamaCasty is coming soon to the Microsoft Store. Follow the build on YouTube to hear when it lands.
Do I need a YouTube channel?
To stream, yes. LlamaCasty links your existing channel with “Sign in with Google”; it doesn't create one for you. If your channel is new, YouTube may ask you to turn on live streaming first.
Does it work on a Mac?
No. LlamaCasty is for 64-bit Windows 10 and 11, and there's no Mac or Linux version.
Can I just record?
Yes. Recording to an .mp4 on your PC works without signing in to YouTube. You can stream or record, but not both at once, so your PC puts all its effort into one job.
Can I stream vertical video?
Yes: vertical 1080p60 (9:16), for Shorts-style streams.
Which platforms does it stream to?
YouTube, and that's the whole focus. LlamaCasty is shaped around how YouTube Live works.
What should I set up before I start?
Your mic and speakers, in Windows. LlamaCasty uses your Windows sound devices: it picks up desktop and game sound automatically, and you choose which mic to use. If sound isn't right in Windows, fix it there first.
Is my chat saved?
No. Your chat is shown on stream, never stored.
LlamaCasty is on its way
It's coming soon to the Microsoft Store, no watermark, no branding. Until it lands, come and watch Gramps build it.
